Newaygo County Head Cook in White Cloud, Michigan

Under the supervision of the Food Service Manager/Nutrition Program Supervisor, the head cook is responsible for preparing the kitchen and food for meal preparation, and other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager.

Examples of Duties

 

  • Opening the kitchen in the morning, getting everything turned on and ready for the day's meal preparation
  • Pulling food for meals each day.
  • Meal preparation for the day.
  • Assist in packaging meals for home delivery and bulk preparation for congregate meal sites.
  • Preparing food and setting up for lunch at White Cloud's meal site.
  • Packaging bulk food containers for other meal sites.
  • Control of left over food.
  • Assist Food Service Manager on last minute menu changes or serving techniques.
  • Attend trainings when designated by Nutrition Program Supervisor.
  • Other duties as determined by the Food Service Manager/Nutrition Program Supervisor.
