Join the Valley Opportunity Council, whose work positively impacts the lives of local residents every day! An immediate opening is available for the Holyoke Chicopee WIC Nutrition/Program Assistant. This is a Full-time job 40 hours. As a Nutrition/Program Assistant you would experience a fast-paced, friendly, engaging environment, knowing you will be making a difference in our community! General Description: The Nutrition/Program Assistant Provides nutrition services to low-risk child applicants and participants. Portion of the time will be responsible for the administrative support of the local WIC program. Will work primarily from our Westfield office. Will be required to Complete and receive acceptable status on all components, activities and post-tests of the CPA I Training Program that is provided to obtain CPA I status AFTER OBTAINING CPA I STATUS: ? Provides nutrition care for low-risk children at certification and follow-up, including all aspects of: o Anthropometric and hematological data collection o Dietary and nutritional risk assessment o Food package assignment o Counseling and education o Documentation and nutrition data entry o Health and social services referrals o Follow-up nutrition education Performs reception duties such as: o Answer and direct phone calls o Screen applicant inquiries for eligibility o Manage appointment scheduling/rescheduling including reminder phone calls o Greet and triage participants to appropriate staff o Oversee flow of applicants/participants in waiting area o Clerical duties as required General Requirements ? Russian/Ukrainian Speaking (Req\'d) ? Availability to work at multiple WIC sites and during program clinic hours as needed Benefits ? First 12 Months employees accrue 2 weeks of vacation ? If the employee wishes to contribute through employee deductions, he/she may contribute a minimum of 2% of their pay and the agency will add another 1%.
