Purpose of the role

Responsible for managing the Regional Learning and Development (L&D) by creating and developing an appropriate L&D strategy across the APAC region, implement measures to determine its effectiveness against the business priorities and ensure alignment with the global Talent and Learning strategy .

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand global learning mandate, strategize and plan regional learning interventions in alignment for synergistic business outcomes.

  • Manage within the regional learning budget for leadership and management skills development.

  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally.

  • Work in partnership with all regional business units, primarily with key senior managers in collaboration with regional HR Business Partners to develop relevant leadership and management skills learning solutions as well as advising the business units on functional competency development

  • Work in partnership with counterparts at country level to provide guidance to them in implementing learning solutions and governance framework locally.

  • Provide a regional voice to the development of Global Learning and Development solutions by Head Office and Global Learning Team, and ensure regional roll-out is aligned with the global directions.

  • Consult with the regional HR Business Partners to understand the organizational performance and people development agenda throughout the business and their strategic aims to ensure the development of quality learning solutions

  • Responsible for managing (objective setting & performance management), developing (coaching, career progression & upskilling) and rewarding (financial and non-financial reward decisions) Direct Reports.

  • Support, coach and guide team members on solving complex issues

  • Proactive in the action planning and implementation of L&D initiatives such as identification of learning needs in business units, developing suitable solutions, manage end-to-end delivery of training programs, workshops and learning interventions with relevant content and effective delivery methods.

  • Deliver leadership and management skills learning solutions and manage programs in an engaging environment to promote active learning.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented learning solutions through feedback mechanisms, assessments, and key performance indicators.

  • Responsible for building a robust L&D framework and review L&D-related policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Learning and Development

  • Regional experience

  • Experience in project management and consulting

  • Bachelor’s degree qualified.

  • Certification in Org. Development, Culture instruments or psychometrics preferred

  • Strong presentation and program facilitation skills to middle to senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to deal effectively with counterparts from all levels.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify competency gaps and propose effective solutions.

  • Strong influencing and communication skills to drive projects and initiatives across the region.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and design methodologies
