Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for administering claims payments, maintaining claim records, and providing counsel to claimants regarding coverage amount and benefit interpretation. Monitors and controls backlog and workflow of claims. Ensures that claims are settled in a timely fashion and in accordance with cost control standards.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Sort, date stamp and distribute mail/faxes/packages daily within set time frames.

• Assist in maintaining files as needed

• Scan documents as requested

• Print documents as requested

• Mail and file all department documents with accuracy, efficiency and in a timely manner. Includes folding, mailing, filing

• Keep printers and printer areas stocked

• Prepare mailings and packages, send out

• Coordinate, upload and maintain department images for multiple health plans using multiple application in an accurate and complete manner

• Data entry into department applications with accuracy, efficiency and in a timely manner.

• Assign work from incoming outlook boxes based upon defined assignments.

Job Qualifications

Required Education

HS Diploma or GED

Required Experience

0-1 year experience in clerical/office support role
