GE Healthcare Build & Release Engineer in Remote, Poland

Job Description Summary

This is an individual contributor position that will work as a member of the GE Command Center Support team, providing Enterprise Level technical support to customers and GG HealthCare team members. Build & Release Engineer must drive complete resolution of complex issues and be able to react to monitoring alerts and take appropriate steps based upon defined incident response plans. The scope can include multiple products at times. Build & Release Engineer works to understand, design and embed Continuous Integration process within SDLC.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Administration & troubleshoot Active Directory, networks, cloud infrastructure, datacenter servers and workstations in support of our Command Center application,

  • Administration & supporting video walls located in customer facilities, including configuration of wall layouts,

  • Diagnosing video tile issues as reported by the customer, restarting components of the video wall as required to restore services,

  • Ensuring timely and quality resolution of escalated customer/client inquiries via phone and written email correspondence,

  • Designing and implement build, deployment, and configuration management systems,

  • Building and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning,

  • Handling code deployments in all environments,

  • Monitoring metrics and develop ways to improve,

  • Building, maintaining, and monitoring configuration standards,

  • Utilizing CI and CD tools with team,

  • Improving infrastructure development and application development.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent experience,

  • Fluent English,

  • Knowledge and experience with Windows & Linux server & desktop OS,

  • Understanding of software architecture and development, scalability, availability & performance considerations and its impact on release engineering,

  • Troubleshooting issues with single and multi-server (peer-to-peer) application implementations on those servers,

  • Experience in writing SQL queries and running those queries against MS SQL,

  • Being up to date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently,

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills,

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

  • Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations,

  • Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Docker, Jenkins, Maven,

  • Experience with Windows infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools,

  • Powershell scripting,

  • Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, Agile workflow methodologies,

  • Tenacious problem solver demonstrating an innate curiosity and passion for solving difficult problems.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Prior Healthcare Domain Experience a plus,

  • Ability to offer data solutions as a method to achieve business objectives.

Leadership:

  • Ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary,

  • Voices opinions and presents clear rationale: ability tot use data or factual evidence to influence.

  • Ability to recognize collaborative behavior and participates in collaborative activities.
