Eaton Corporation EHS Manager in Nogales, Mexico

Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a EHS Manager.

What you’ll do:

This position provides environmental, health, safety, and security leadership to the Nogales Plant. Success is defined through the attainment and continual improvement of metrics relating to safety, health, and environmental controls as well as compliance to legal requirements, MESH system and Eaton’s Leadership Model, values, and philosophy.

A. Facilitates process and provides technical and administrative leadership to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and MESH requirements.

B. Identify projects or initiatives to reduce the environmental impacts of Nogales operation.

C. Continuous improvement to identify, assess, and reduce/mitigate EHS risk.

D. Establish and maintain relationship with governmental authorities on matter of mutual concern including voluntary certification, compliance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and data.

E. Manage the development and deployment of EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, VPP, Industria Limpia, etc.) as required.

F. Comply with Eaton’s ethics policy and keeps management informed of issues associated with regulatory compliance and any EHS related topic that could affect the operation.

G. Develop and provide EHS training material for employees.

H. Incident Investigation (including Near Misses, Environmental Releases, and Security Incidents) using different problem-solving tools (8D’s, 5 whys, A3, Fishbone) to determine root causes and CAPA’s.

I. Integrates and supports Corporate, Group, and Regional EHS initiatives designed to drive best practices across Eaton. Identify Lessons Learned across Eaton that could affect the operation.

J. Identify opportunities to improve environmental conditions in the community as well as promoting employee wellness, health, and safety.

K. Support and/or participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Kaizen events, 5S+, Improvement Ideas Programs, Gemba Walks, Cost Out and/or demonstrate improvements in goals year over year in our process aligned to achieve or business goals and/objectives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

3-5 years experience

Skills:

"• Comprehension of corporate, industry, state, and country environmental, health, and safety requirements.

• Fluently bilingual: English/Spanish

• Strong organizational skills including ability to manage large number of disparate projects and to track projects through completion.

• Problem Solving Tools and Continuous Improvement

• Thorough knowledge of industrial chemistry and waste control/elimination technology and practices

• Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes

• 3+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management and employee training. Experience with Security programs and Supply Chain Security.

• Four (4) year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent.

• Professional certification (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent)."
