Staff Associate II

The Laboratory of Benjamin Izar, MD is inviting applications for a dynamic and highly motivated Staff Associate II to join his research program in Hematology & Oncology at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. The ideal candidate, during the appointment will be responsible of performing experiments to elucidate mechanisms of brain-metastatic organotropism in the laboratory of Dr. Benjamin Izar, Principal Investigator at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Specifically, you will design in vitro and in vivo experiment, perform cell culture, create novel cell line models using genome[1]engineering, and perform mouse experiment injecting such engineered models, followed molecular readouts of metastasis over time. You will work closely under the supervision of Dr. Izar, his molecular and computational trainees. Dr. Izar's laboratory is located in the Black Building on the Columbia University Irving Medical Center campus.


  • Bachelor's degree in specific research field and 4 years recommended.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and scientific dissemination.
