VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional local Health and Safety advisor to join our Team team based in Munich, Germany .

Let’s talk about the role!

As the local Health and Safety advisor of a country, you are directly responsible for keeping local management and EMEA H&S management informed on all levels of risk and informing your line manager (legal director of the countries) of any issues. You are focused and detailed in executing all safety programs to keep the VF employees safe. You are an advocate and influencer capable of leading cross-functional teams to maintain safety standards. As a collaborator, you enjoy working with different location/brand managers and departments to generate a positive safety culture throughout VF.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Responsible for oversight of the risk assessments and safety programs in all VF locations.

  • Implement a safety culture consistent throughout all locations maintaining each specific location culture.

  • Collaborate with EMEA H&S, Brands; Human Resources, maintenance, Operations to be the employee safety representative.

  • Responsible for the development of safety tools, programs, reports and training across all locations, ensuring a consistent message to minimize risk and control losses.

  • Make sure all incidents and accidents are reported through our digital platform (Ideagen)

  • Minimize risk through tracking and managing all incidents and employee injuries.

  • Support leaders in managing safety incidents and emergency procedures.

  • Protect VF’s reputation by ensuring stakeholder awareness for liability exposure and spearheading strategic responses to critical issues.

  • Assures compliance with VF global health and safety standards and country regulations.

Skills for Success:

  • 2-5 years Years of Related Professional Experience:

  • Good knowledge of English

  • Customer orientated

  • Ability to provide professional H&S support to the local management

  • Ability to lead and train cross departmental/brand teams and achieve results

  • Proficiency using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Working knowledge of Safety Regulations (Local and VF standard)

  • "Keep it simple" way of working

  • Ability to communicate clearly (verbally and written).

  • Follows through/executes all tasks, assignments and job duties in a timely manner.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

  • Strong presentation preparation and presenting skills.

  • Self-motivated and driven.

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or related field and a minimum of 2 years general management experience in the Risk Management or Safety field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Experience in project management and/or in leadership role preferred.

  • Knowledge of ISO and OHSAS is a plus

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:

  • Some travel by air and overnight, as required .

  • Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25lbs, depending on need .
