National Vision Manufacturing Supervisor - 2nd shift in Lawrenceville, Georgia

Right now we're looking for a Manufacturing Supervisors to join our growing team in Lawrenceville, GA.

The hours for the role are: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday 4:00 pm to 4:30 am. 

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily functions of the production departments including meeting production goals, hiring and developing staff, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for associates.

What would you do? – The Specifics

  • Supervises the production in the various departments.

  • Tracks hourly production numbers at each work station.

  • Communicates with maintenance department to ensure all equipment is running properly.

  • Using late lists, tracks down old trays and expedites them through the lab.

  • Reduces breakage by reviewing broken items and implementing plans to ensure issues do not reoccur.

  • Reviews final inspection rejects.

  • Identifies fixable trends regarding product failing final inspection; recommends and implements solutions.

  • Sends “reworks” to appropriate person and uses them as a training tool to ensure they don’t reoccur.

  • Works with other department supervisors to resolve interdepartmental issues.

  • Submits daily reports on department progress.

  • Schedules all work and vacation time for Bench associates.

  • Maintains performance records for Bench associates.

  • Reviews associate performance through HR’s performance management system.

  • Assists Production Manager with interviewing and selecting associates for manufacturing departments.

  • Oversees training by department Leads.

  • Cross trains associates to effectively perform at multiple stations within the department.

  • Updates and implements department Policies and Procedures; enforces all Company Policies and Procedures.

Are you the right fit? – The Suitable Talent

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associated degree or higher preferred.

  • 5-7 of experience in manufacturing production preferred.

  • 5 years previous supervisory experience required.

  • Must be able to read or write English.

  • Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of MS Office including word and excel.

  • Sustained light (20lbs or less) physical effort required.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out and create detailed written or oral instructions.
