Executes the Quality Management System Plan and works with leadership in Operations, Safety, Maintenance, and Logistics to support various contract requirements. The Inspector ensures QA procedures and processes are followed and executes activities to ensure adequacy, effectiveness and efficiencies. The Inspector uses a variety of established quality inspection methods, techniques and criteria to perform tasks.

Responsibilities

Performs aircraft and equipment technical inspections relating to systems, structures, components, operational functions and other areas for compliance to stated requirements.

Ensures processes and functions adhere to Safety requirements

Performs analysis of data for performance trends and reporting purposes.

Performs evaluations of various processes for compliance, effectivity, and efficiency.

Participates in continuous improvement activities.

Responds to and assists with the completion of corrective actions for complex Corrective Action Requests / Performance Assessment Reports received from the Customer.

Assists in ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, tenets outlined in AS9110, DCMA 8210-1C, corporate policies and procedures, and any other referenced requirements as needed.

Assists with the development, implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control policies and procedures including supplemental work instructions.

Assists with Root Cause Analysis of nonconformance(s), non-conforming product(s), and other discrepancies to facilitate lasting corrective actions.

Assists with scheduling and execution of System, Process and Product Audits.

Assists with review of technical publications, standards, manuals, etc. for accuracy, interpretation, applicability, and changes.

Required Qualifications

At least 3 years of aerospace quality experience required.

Experience as an aircraft A&P Mechanic (can be other Aircraft Specialized Certification), plus 2 years of Quality Inspection experience in a production environment. (Fighter aircraft preferred)

Must have working experience in aircraft maintenance and inspection procedures as well as knowledge and experience in regards to weight and balance, major repairs and alterations.

Must have working knowledge of DCMA8210-1C Contractor’s Flight and Ground Operations

Ability to use inspection devices and perform routine inspections and ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

Ability to perform comprehensive record research for compliance, log book, and other statutory entries.

Must be able to sit, stand and walk throughout the various job sites.

Must be able to operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, and subject to extreme temperatures.

Ability to communicate effectively with all departments and levels within organization.

Ability to read and write technical English

Ability to solve routine and complex problems.

Ability to remain neutral with any member of the organization.

Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.

Working experience with MS Office Suites skills required.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.

Must be willing to travel as required.

Must be able to support multiple shifts.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Environment ranges from office-like to hangar and flight line. Extensive sitting to climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.

  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.

  • May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
