ROLE SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing invoices, working with Project Managers and Vendors to resolve concerns. The following role responsibilities are not all encompassing as specific work tasks vary.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately reviews, codes and inputs A/P invoices for Clarkson Construction and subsidiary companies.
  • Reviews all invoices and communicates with field/project management for appropriate documentation.
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
  • 1099 maintenance.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries.
  • Communicate with invoice approvers to ensure timely processing of invoices.
  • Assist in month end closing.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Assists with other projects as needed.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
  • Communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Demonstrate advanced level Excel skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new accounting software.
  • Able to keep pace in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of process evaluation and improvement.
  • Strong mathematical skills.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Show up ready to work when scheduled.
  • Communicates absences and tardiness with supervisor as early as possible.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test, background, and credit check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, walk, stand; Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • This position requires in-person work.
  • Professional, business casual office environment.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED .
  • 2 years of accounting experience required.
  • Experience with Vista, Viewpoint, or other construction accounting software (preferred).
