Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Manager - Materials Management to play a pivotal role in the successful execution of a stadium construction project. This position requires a deep understanding of stadium and sports arena materials selection, procurement strategies, and supply chain management to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials within budget constraints.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive materials management strategies to meet project objectives, including procurement planning, inventory control, and supplier management.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to identify material requirements and specifications for the construction of the stadium.

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships to secure competitive pricing and quality materials.

  • Oversee the procurement process, including RFQ/RFP preparation, bid evaluation, and vendor selection, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage material budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, tracking costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.

  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to inspect incoming materials, monitor performance, and address any issues or deficiencies promptly.

  • Coordinate with project teams to schedule material deliveries according to construction milestones and deadlines, adjusting plans as necessary to accommodate changes or delays.

  • Lead a team of materials management professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective execution of duties and adherence to project goals.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field

  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in materials management, procurement, or logistics within the construction industry, with a focus on Sports Arena, Stadiums projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and industry standards; experience particularly related to FIFA stadium requirements is an asset.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing teams and driving results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, environmental sustainability practices, and risk management principles in construction projects.
