Position Description

Position Description:

As part of a dynamic commercial team responsible for short-term and long-term sale of firm transportation / storage agreements and the purchase and sale of natural gas to customers along the Texas Gulf Coast. The candidate will be responsible for data accumulation, evaluation, processing, understanding and communicating the financial impact on a monthly basis within the Texas Intrastate business unit.

Responsible for the following:

  • Daily and weekly run and analyze the daily position report and communicate the variances and financial impact.

  • Daily and weekly monitor and analyze the storage position and communicate the current financial position and monitor potential LCOM impact.

  • Maintain the annual budget file and coordinate the preparation of the annual budget with the Commercial Team.

  • Lead and coordinate the update to the Long Range Outlook (LRO) by working with the Commercial Team. The LRO is updated twice a year.

  • Interface with the Financial Planning Team each week on any financial change to the forecast due to changes in the market, renewed or extended contract and new projects or new business.

  • Evaluate the market dynamics within the State of Texas and communicate with Commercial Team quarterly.

  • Help prepare slides and information for the Texas Intrastate Quarterly Business Review and the Quarterly Board Meeting.

*Job level will be commensurate with experience and skill set. Other duties not detailed above will be assigned as necessary.

Position Requirements

Education:

  • Candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Finance or equivalent

    Experience / Specific Knowledge:

  • Minimal experience required (1-3 years preferred). Candidate should have a desire to learn the natural gas transmission industry.

    Competencies, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have superior PC skills and be able to use the Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on strong Excel skills, as well as experience developing presentations and slides.

  • Candidate should be outgoing, energetic, pleasant and self-motivated.

  • Must be articulate, work well under pressure, consistently able to meet deadlines and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
