Coordinates officer activities to ensure a safe and tranquil environment. This position holds the rank of Sergeant, and is above Security Officers and below Lieutenant.Minimum Required - High School Diploma or GED. Preferred Degree - Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. The Ohio Peace Office Training Academy (OPOTA) certification as a Police Officer is preferred, not required. Minimum Required - 2 Years equivalent experience. Preferred 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience.Job Function: Scheduling and Shift Supervision. Reviews all shift reports and statistics. Performs all job responsibilities of an officer, and other department members when necessary. Public Safety Response and General Security/Policing Coordinates response to emergency situations, investigations, and criminal activity occurring on his/her shift. Staff Development - Ensures staff understanding and compliance with department and organizational policies and procedures. Selection and Placement Participates in interviews and selection of department associates. Department Administration - Assist with formulation and/or revisions of policies and procedures. Parking Enforcement Responsible for accounting, enforcement, and regulation of parking operations.
