Gallatin Center for Rehabilitation and Healing Rehabilitation Technician Days in Gallatin, Tennessee

Responsibilities Include:

Assists the DOR and Rehab Team members with assigned tasks, demonstrating safe and appropriate work practices that will facilitate the work flow of the Rehab Department.

Promotes Gallatin Center’s reputation as an unparalleled provider of rehab to the elderly by demonstrating professionalism at all times.

Involved in support duties as assigned: This includes but is not limited to:

  • Changing linen, cleaning, and straightening up treatment areas.

  • Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and supplies.

  • Performing clerical duties as assigned including copying, faxing, and filing.

  • Assist therapists in scheduling patients.

  • Transportation of patients to and from rehab gym

  • Set up treatment of patient or area as instructed by therapist

  • Provide hands on assist with therapist if needed for safety

  • Assist with group set-up, as instructed by the therapist

Facilitates building and maintaining Gallatin Center’s reputation as an unparalleled provider of rehab services by contribution as professional member of staff. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Consistently demonstrating Gallatin Centers core values in interactions with co-workers, patients and families, with all other persons involved with the patient’s care, and the general public.

  • Consistently demonstrates professional standards as outlined in the facility Employee Handbook and as communicated by the facility’s management.

  • Contributes to a positive work team by sharing information, using problem solving methods and accepting new ideas, constructive criticism, or advice from others.

  • Demonstrates superior customer service through courtesy, consistent follow-up, and positive communication

  • Demonstrates safe working practices. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Identifies and corrects safety hazards or notifies the facility or the Director of Rehab so that safety hazards will be immediately remedied.

  • Maintains work areas in safe and orderly fashion.

  • Maintains equipment in safe working order.

  • Uses proper body mechanics during support activities.

  • Uses universal safety precautions.

  • Wears safety equipment, as appropriate (i.e. gait belts, gloves, etc.).

Qualifications/Requirements:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • CNA Certification preferred

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • CPR certification, if required.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing facility/departmental demands.

  • Ability to meet all scheduled responsibilities in a timely manner.

  • Ability to cope with rapidly changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

For Assisting Therapist in Patient Care Activities:

  • Must be able to perform multiple lifts and transfers of residents to and from all surfaces at a minimum of 10 times per day.

  • Must be able to lift approximately 50-70 pounds a minimum of 10 times per day.

  • A Rehab Aide may spend 50-90% of the time standing/walking and 10 – 50% of the time sitting.

  • Proficient with use of hands for repetitive grasping, pushing-pulling, and fine motor manipulation.

  • Exhibits good visual acuity skills.

  • Able to bend, reach, climb, kneel (60-80% of day)

For Support Activities:

  • A Rehab Aide may spend approximately 10-50% of the time sitting at desk or terminal entering data.

  • Some facilities may require a current state driver’s license.

  • Proficiency with clerical skills for data entry and computer management.
