Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization providing programs and services to individuals with disabilities. We are celebrating over 100 years and are proud of our history!

Our Residential Program is looking to hire energetic and caring Direct Support Professionals/Community and In-Home to join our team. We are looking to fill several part-time positions with flexible daylight hours. No evenings, weekdays or holidays!

JOB SUMMARY

The Direct Support Professional/Community/In-Home provides direct support services and/or companion services to adults with Autism/Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD)

QUALIFICATIONS-Direct Support Professional/CP/IHCS

  • High School diploma/GED
  • First Aid/CPR preferred
  • Current valid Pennsylvania driver's license and acceptable driving record from PennDOT. Community staff need to have *personal vehicle with additional insurance coverage *to transport individuals.
  • Acceptable Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Clearance required.
  • Department of Aging FBI Clearance required if not a continuous resident of PA for three years prior to employment with Easterseals.
  • Passing of physical examination and TB required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-Direct Support Professional/CP/IHCS

  1. Assists individuals in learning and developing new skills that will enhance opportunities for independence and inclusion

  2. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the participant and maintains safe environment at all times

  3. Assist individuals in all aspects of personal care which includes, but is not limited to: toileting, feeding, bathing, ambulating, range of motion, etc. Complete and pass Medication Administration training. Administer medication to individuals per completed training procedures

  4. Provide a friendly and stimulating environment for program consumers through tasks such as, but not limited to: greeting participants, assisting in putting on/taking off outerwear, serving food/beverages, engaging in conversation, and facilitating the establishment of relationships with community partners

  5. Assist in developing and implementing individualized support plans for consumers

Hours/Benefits-Direct Support Professional/CP/IHCS

  • The hours will depend on the needs of the individual.
  • The hourly rate is $16.00.
