CACI has an opportunity for a Firewall Engineer to support DISA in Ft. Meade, MD with a wide range of network skills. Firewall Engineers ensure network related services are functioning normally, troubleshoot issues, and implement relevant upgrades. Their core responsibility is to ensure that network security services, software, etc. are running effectively.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • As the Palo Alto Firewall Engineering, you’ll be working with and maintaining the Palo Alto network firewalls, F5 load balancers, and other security devices. Customer Service and End-User support is its primary task (Palo Alto Firewall changes), and support of Network Engineers as a secondary task.

PURPOSE:

  • Develops and implements security solutions. Administers security technology systems by architecting and engineering/developing trusted systems into secure systems.

  • Assists in the development of implementation and deployment plans that are aligned to the organizational strategic plan objectives and security requirements.

  • Advises management in developing cybersecurity policies, processes, and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • TS/SCI clearance is required.

  • Education Level: bachelor’s degree, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.

  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA)

  • Minimum of five years of experience with Network Engineering and Network Security.

  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an additional 5 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

  • Candidates must have a Networking background and knowledge of routers, switches, the OSI Model, subnetting, and network design parameters.

  • Backup and restore devices configurations (Firewalls, Routers, Switches)

  • Use of Performance and analyzing tools ie (Wireshark, Riverbed, SolarWinds)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to perform risk assessments and investigate cyber security incidents.

  • Ability to understand vulnerabilities at a technical level.

  • Knowledge of hardware and software, networks, data centers, systems, and cyber security related issues.

  • Proficient in ethical hacking techniques.

  • Strong experience in Intrusion Detection / Prevention systems

  • Knowledge in IPSEC VPN design connection and protocols

  • Tunnel configuration, Encryption and integrity protocols

  • Strong critical thinking ability and investigative/problem solving skills.

  • CompTIA Security + CE certification

  • CCNA / CCNP

  • OSPF and BGP
