Job Description

Position Overview

The Director will provide operational oversight for Invenergy’s Third-Party NERC Support Services program. In this role, the Director will be responsible for ensuring non-Invenergy owned operating projects remain equipped to demonstrate compliance through internal controls, enhanced workflow processes, and performance metrics. Based out of our downtown Chicago office, the Director will use their engineering and cyber security acumen , regulatory compliance administration, and relationship management expertise to fulfil the job responsibilities, with limited managerial oversight and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Independently drive end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of assigned deliverables supporting NERC compliance monitoring activities (693 and CIP) for third party owned assets

  • Partner with business development leaders to structure and negotiate compliance support services

  • Lead onboarding compliance readiness efforts and periodic reporting for new projects

  • Provide regulatory and technical assistance to Asset Owners

  • Develop and maintain KPIs that reflect program performance

  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls

  • Develop a team of professionals to support program objectives

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education

  • 7+ years of demonstrated direct NERC program leadership experience (693 and CIP)

  • 3+ years of managing direct reports

  • 3+ years of relationship management leadership experience

  • Excellent conflict resolution skills and ability to foster lasting customer relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgement to identify and to solve complex problems

  • Demonstrated ability to timely comprehend and navigate complex business contracts

  • Advanced organizational, presentation/facilitation, and verbal/written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, KPI software, and Adobe Acrobat

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in technical power plant operations and/or design

  • Advanced degree in Management, Business Law, Engineering, or related discipline with an engineering/power system focus and/or equivalent industry experience.

  • Willingness to travel between 25-30%.
