Key accountability and responsibilities

  • Understands and communicates Appian Application Architecture.

  • Constructs conceptual application architecture including records, reports, and news feeds.

  • Designs conceptual workflows and related actions.

  • Defines application user roles and responsibilities

  • Ensuring high performance and maintainability of code

  • Writing tested, idiomatic, and documented TypeScript, HTML and CSS

  • Contribute to achieving continuous improvement within the standards and processes for the ongoing development

  • Developing user interfaces against defined style guides

  • Perform test-driven development (TDD) within the Agile software development process

  • Working within a CI/CD environment

  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.

  • Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.

  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.

  • Complete bug fixes.

  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.

  • Resolve technical issues as necessary.

  • Keep abreast of new technology developments.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Recommended experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of Software Engineering experience

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required

  • Experience in using a range of analysis and modeling techniques, for example: modeling current and desired future scenarios, business functions and processes, logic and rules, information flows, and data structures.

  • Strong communication skills that allow for effective communication across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to understand technical issues at a high level

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • Broad understanding of software development methodologies, platforms, tools, and languages.

Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience of working with the following or similar technologies:

Essential:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Appian Tool (1-2+ years), with a focus on Appian Application and Appian Interface design

  • Strong hands-on experience in design patterns and transaction management, with a focus on Appian patterns and Appian integration.

  • SQL and Database development

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Have a good understanding and experience of release management using CI/CD.

Desirable:

  • Data project experience. Worked on projects in an Enterprise environment where data is shared across multiple systems using technologies like Kafka, Rest APIs

  • Developing Rest APIs using microservices and event-driven data integration

  • Java development experience Java 8+, Spring

  • AWS – S3, Athena, EC2, RDS
