ROLE DEFINITION

DuPont Shelter Solutions has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Architectural Demand Creator, in Calgary Alberta

As an Architectural Demand Creator you will have the responsibility to develop and manage the demand creation strategy for the commercial market in Western Canada. You will be expected to work collaboratively and in coordination with the Channel / National Account Managers, to drive sales growth for the innovative systems and solutions of the Shelter commercial business segment. As a Building Envelope Specialist, you will develop key relationships with industry influencers, the design and specification community, and establish a reputation as a trusted advisor and building envelope expert. To be successful in this role, you must have the skills and technical aptitude to develop a deep understanding of the commercial design process and identify additional opportunities to grow the Shelter and DuPont business overall. The role is highly consultative and requires a strong degree of influence management and the ability to develop offensive and defensive strategies aligned with the Shelter Solutions and DuPont growth strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION  ​

Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:

  • Demand creation strategy development, tactical action plan and implementation required to drive sustainable revenue growth of the full portfolio of DuPont Shelter Solutions products.

  • Manage and build relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders in the commercial architectural, specification and consulting industry and within DuPont.

  • Be an industry ambassador within the design community, hold leadership positions in relevant associations, support the design community with building envelope technical expertise including architectural details and building code consulting.

  • Utilize lead management tools such as Sales Force and Construct Connect to track the project pipeline. Coordinate with Channel/Account Managers to track projects through stages from pre-planning to construction completion.

  • Develop extensive knowledge of the Shelter portfolio and core business applications.

  • Interact continuously with North American Shelter sales and marketing leadership, Building Knowledge center (BKC) team and R&D.

  • Provide regular and consistent documented feedback on technical needs, new building envelope technologies, competitive solutions/systems, and strategic opportunities/partnerships for business growth.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • 4 year Bachelor undergraduate degree required, Engineering or Architectural Technology degree, or similar experience preferred.

  • Deep understanding of building envelope science, the commercial design process, construction industry applications, and commercial value chain and competition is required.

  • Minimum 5 years’ successful sales experience in a building science technical support role is highly preferred.

  • Strong demonstrated competency in consultative sales and new business development required

  • Strong competency in using lead and customer relationship management tools required.

  • Excellent verbal, written & presentation communication skills in English are required. Bilingual capabilities are desirable.

The individual will own and drive the demand creation strategy and action plan for the commercial market segment in MB, SK, AB and BC., with additional collaborative responsibilities across Canada. Ideally, the successful candidate should be located in or near Calgary Alberta.
