Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join us a Tax and Customs Professional. Reporting to the ASEAN Tax and Customs Manager (based in Singapore), you will be responsible for supporting Singapore customs advisory activities, corporate tax and GST compliance & advisory for Siemens Singapore group of entities.

You’ll make an impact by:

Customs

  • Support customs advisory activities in accordance with local regulations and Siemens' global customs strategy

  • Execute oversight duties for Singapore customs operational activities including restructuring, new set-ups, Free Trade Agreement application & tariff optimization

  • Liaise with external customs authorities and brokers to resolve issues and ensure smooth customs clearance; collaborate with other team members and departments to optimize customs processes and address cross-functional challenges

Tax

  • Tax Accounting and Reporting: Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax accounting and reporting packages, ensuring compliance with local and HQ reporting requirements

  • Tax Returns and Submissions: Prepare and submit Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, and GST returns to tax authorities, including thorough information extraction and collation

  • Tax Query Management: Address tax queries from both authorities and internal stakeholders, including preparation of draft replies and resolution of inquiries related to WHT, international tax, and other tax matters

  • Advisory and Projects: Participate in ad-hoc advisory and projects, covering areas such as process improvement, new tax laws implementation, M&A, and restructuring

You excel in:

  • Degree in Tax, Accountancy, Business Administration or an equivalent professional qualification

  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in local Customs / Trade Compliance practices or Tax in Big 4, local firm or commercial

  • Hands on experience dealing with Singapore Customs topics and/or GST is an added advantage

  • Possessing an accreditation by SCTP will be an added advantage

  • Proficiency in working with SAP, MS Applications and other accounting software

  • Team player with the ability to work as an individual contributor as well as partnering with colleagues across functions and businesses

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrate initiative, a constant process improvement mindset, independent, organized with strong analytical skills and detailed-oriented

  • Preferably a member of the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP)
