Rochester Optical Optical Medical Billing and Receptionist-Full time in Rochester, New York

The Full-time Optical Medical Billing Receptionist will work a rotating schedule Monday through Saturday in which the person will work every third Saturday.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ability to project a professional image

• Process orders in the Point of Sale (POS) Software

• Understanding of health insurance and medical costs including coding required to properly bill for services

• Skillful in data entry, including speed and accuracy

• Ability to multitask with superior time management skills

• Knowledge of procedure and diagnosis codes including CPT and ICD-10 coding

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Problem solving and attention to detail

• Ability to recognize billing errors

• Receive denial letters and follow up appropriately to ensure payment is received

• Greet customers on the phone and in person in a friendly manner

• Schedule appointments and send correspondence

• Provide accurate information about services, products, policies and promotions

• Answer customer inquiries and resolve customer issues with exceptional service

• Assist in keeping the store clean and organized and in maintaining inventory and displays

• Adhere to opening and closing procedures of the retail store

• Deliver efficient and effective front desk operation.

Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent customer-service, organization, time-management, communication and interpersonal skills

• Effective retail service skills

• Ability to learn and retain new information

• Comfort using a computer and learning new software

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least two years medical billing experience preferred

• Customer service experience preferred
