POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinates and performs outside grounds and inside facilities maintenance activities. Recommends types of materials (i.e. fertilizers and chemicals) required for proper maintenance. Is responsible for lawn care, snow removal, trash hauling, parts pickup, and other duties as assigned.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in and coordinates activities of outside grounds maintenance.

  • Responsible for proper maintenance of lawn, trees, and shrubs, which includes mowing, trimming, fertilizing, spraying, watering, raking, etc.

  • Maintains grounds by directing or performing duties such as snow removal using power or manual equipment. This includes salting and chopping ice on sidewalks and drives.

  • Supervisory responsibilities of general laborers and summer help.

  • Drives truck to haul trash and makes parts runs.

  • Minor carpentry and plumbing work and repair.

  • Repairs yard equipment and yard sprinkler system as required.

  • Interior and exterior painting.

  • Assures that all outside property such as gates, fences, parking lots, building, and equipment are properly maintained.

  • At the discretion of supervisor, may be called upon to perform tasks outside of regular working hours, including late evening or early morning hours.

  • Operates power mowers, other lawn and garden equipment tractors, snow removal equipment, power sweeper, lift truck, and company trucks and vehicles.

  • Keeps work area neat, clean, organized, and under control.

  • Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance with all company procedures and policies.

    Required: High school education.
