Responsible for system prep of the addition, changes, and maintenance of all manufacturing database system data related to the Item Master, Bill of Materials, Bill of Operations, and Costs. Helps evaluate impact of proposed changes and assists with writing of Engineering Change Orders.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inputs and maintains Item Master data for components, products, literature, and factory supply items (including component status, source code, unit of measure, description field, etc.).

  • Creates and maintains current and future Bill of Material and Bill of Operation data for all items (including raw material and component listing, product assembly structure, quantities per assembly, item numbers, etc.).

  • Creates and maintains PLM objects and data as required for implementation of current and future bill of material changes.

  • Adds, maintains, and removes Engineering and Quality flags such as hold, new item tooling , capability study, and first piece in the Bill of Material listing.

  • Reviews Engineering design and packaging changes as well as Purchasing and Production requests for Bill of Material impact.

  • Evaluates the requested changes to make sure all affected items are included (new parts, databases, plants, assemblies, additional changes in process, six-digit uniqueness, etc.) against the current & future live system.

  • Notifies the requestor of any corrections or additions.

  • Modifies the requested changes as required.

  • Coordinates implementation of Bill of Material changes with requestors and respective departments which includes advising on proper completion of required documents.

  • Develops and maintains documentation tracking the date, requestor, reason, and the exact system changes completed as well as history of parts, assemblies, and products.

  • Is responsible for accuracy and periodic auditing of Item Master data and Bill of Material data.

  • Improves throughput quantity, entry speed, and accuracy through electronic entry, system commands, system analysis tools, and coordination with requestors.

  • Utilizes skill and knowledge of manufacturing database and engineering change procedures to help research impacts of proposed projects.

  • Utilizes skill and knowledge of manufacturing database, engineering change procedures, and data analysis tools to help write Engineering Change Orders.

  • The engineering change order process.

  • Processes, documents, and files production feedback information.

  • Maintains Bill of Operation change and tracking documentation.

  • Assists in the maintenance of manning/standards guidelines.

  • Maintains Current and Standard Costs in accordance with Division Financial Policies and Procedures.

  • Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.
