Role Summary

Here at Parker Meggitt, we are recruiting for a seasoned Project Manager to join us at our Fareham site.

We’re looking for someone who’s experienced in leading and managing cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and Quality) to deliver projects established within the non-recurring cost (NRC), delivery, quality, and other critical success factors (CSFs).

The PM will primarily focus on Technical Engineering Projects including, but not limited to; New Product Development (NPI), In-Service Support (Operational Support/Continuous Improvement) and Transfer of Work (ToW) projects. The right person will engage a culture of transparency, honesty and trust within the project, with the ability to react in a flexible manner to change. The ability to grasp projects issues, coordinate their project team and deliver at pace are crucial.

Core Responsibilities

  • Applying broad based technical and Aerospace industry knowledge and experience to maximise opportunities for success on projects

  • Maintaining day to day project management activities (including the Daily Stand Up meeting) and driving the resolution of issues

  • Leading Project Meetings and supporting customer needs (presenting at Project Reviews and Financial Reviews as required)

  • Creating, modifying and agreeing project plans (using MS Project) with the Engineering Design Authorities

  • Maintaining project plans (MS Project) and status reporting contained in the Project Management Database (Power BI)

  • Ability to apply effective Project planning with complex relations and challenging milestones in a matrix organisation

  • Maintaining a technical overview of the project with the support of the Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering functions

  • Working knowledge of Project Lifecycle Management (PLM), its application and implementation of it without supervision to achieve desired Project outcomes

  • Applying an effective and structured approach to embedding Risk Management as central to effective Project delivery

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and drive project delivery

    Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

    Essential

  • Experience in delivering technical engineering projects and work packages across multiple domains

  • Experience in applying Project Management standards and techniques throughout the lifecycle of the project, key process areas include: stakeholder management, project planning, monitoring and control, risk & opportunity management, financial management, business cases and benefits

    Desirable

  • Aerospace industry experience or experience of leading projects in an highly regulated environment

  • A professional project management qualification, ideally PMI Certification or APM Practitioner qualification
