Job Description

Program of Instruction (POI)

This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies (HII-MT) Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII-MT.

Essential Job Responsibilities

For this internship, The SkillBridge intern will train as a Network Discover Intelligence Analyst with HII-Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII Supervisor, with the goal of learning HII-Mission Technologies’ Enterprise approach for identifying, collecting and providing analysis of highly sensitive data critical to the defense our nation. Additionally, offering the Intern the opportunity to work alongside SMEs and assist in providing critical support to our clients. Our SMEs will provide on-the-job training, and ensure interns complete our program with the confidence to accurately apply and perform the skills learned in this internship throughout their future careers. This internship also allows interns a look at what HII-MT can offer them as an employee.

Desired End State (3 - 4-month target)

At the end of four months, the intern will be able to understand basic cybersecurity/ Intelligence Analysis concepts.

The intern will develop a good understanding of the critical tasks required to successfully evaluate intelligence, document their findings in corporate repositories and expand the collection of high value data.

HII-MT will benefit from the military background of the intern and considers the internship an overall positive experience.

Assumptions

Intern will be available during core hours for critical meetings and training.

Training Plan

Phase 1 Basics

Week 1: In processing, account creation, clearance submissions, Introductions/office familiarization

Week 2: Completion of mandatory training required for tool/data access

Weeks 3-4: Introduction to corporate tools and techniques required for successful intelligence analysis and documentation

Weeks 5-6: Introduction to specialized tools and techniques that are used to enable the collection high priority data.

Phase 2 Active Project Analysis

Week 7-12:

  • SkillBridge intern will attend operations to expand their knowledge of how corporate and specialized tools are used jointly to enhance data collection.

  • Documentation methodologies for ensuring project continuity and long term success of projects are also taught at this time

    Phase 3 Demonstration of Learned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Week 13-16: SkillBridge intern will plan and lead operations under the supervision of certified analysts to demonstrate and further grow the knowledge they acquired during weeks 7-12

Minimum Qualifications

Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service. Education and Experience dependent on Program of Instruction.

  • Must possess and maintain TS/SCI w/ CI Poly

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.

    Shall have a minimum of 8 years’ experience and in-depth demonstrated experience in areas:

  • Producing technical reports

  • Social network analysis

  • Geospatial metadata analysis

  • Collection Systems

  • Architectures and Protocols

  • Network Protocols

  • Target Research

  • Metadata Analysis

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in Network Operation

  • Experience in Network Mapping

  • Experience in Telephony

  • Background in customer operations and requirements.
